“DO IT” is the message the author sends out to all those riders who have spent time thinking about embarking on a great adventure, a life-changing experience … but who lack the courage to go all the way.

This book narrates the journey taken by an American motorcyclist / photographer from Texas to the most southern point of South America.

“I travel because the place I haven’t been to is the place I want to go to! Whether it’s an excursion to a volcano, a walk in the woods or a tour with my motorcycle to the tip of South America, I want to live my own film”.
Dirk Weisiger is a man of a certain age with a successful business behind him and an overbearing desire to try something that has never been done. Having explored a number of different options, the decision was made to take a 14 month solo trip riding his BMW motorcycle from Texas to the southern tip of Argentina. A very emotive experience with surprises and life lessons about “traveling” which led Dirk to document everything in black and white. Truth be told, colour is certainly not lacking … as “our” traveller is both a renowned and talented photographer (take a look at the images posted on his website).
“I headed south – says the author – to understand the prospects presented during a solo trip but I ended up feeling more connected to the people I encountered along the way”
Dirk Weisiger is an explorer and a storyteller. He has travelled to five continents and has scaled the heights of Mount Kilimanjaro. He loves people and believes that making new friends is the best part of every adventure.
In general, those who have read his book say they were fascinated by his exploits and his insight and were inspired to confront their own long-awaited dreams of adventure, conquering the road and overcoming fear.
Part of the proceeds from this book will go to helping the children of the private school Colegio Bautista El Calvario in Managua, Nicaragua.
